Our mission is to promote international understanding by preserving and sharing Scandinavian heritage and culture with our community.

ANNUAL EVENTS

We hold four annual events that connect the Santa Barbara community with the cultural heritage of Scandinavia. Our biggest event is the Holiday Auction in November to fundraise for our scholarships.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any person interested in preserving and sharing the culture and heritage of the Scandinavian countries. We organize and promote cultural events and activities for our members and community.

SCHOLARSHIPS

ASFSB offers two types of scholarships to local students entering or enrolled in college. Our next applications open fall 2026 for College Scholarships and January 2027 for the Summer Scholarship Program.

ASFSB Spring in Scandinavia 2026 Event

Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Noon
Upper Manning Park, Montecito, CA

The American Scandinavian Foundation of Santa Barbara invites you to dance around the maypole and celebrate spring in Scandinavia.

Bring a salad or appetizer. Lemonade, water and paper goods will be supplied. Please bring flowers and greens. We will make flower crowns. This celebration is for our members and friends. The public is welcome.
